Family Retreat - October 13-14, 2012

Once again a large number of FCCSR families decamped to lovely Walker Creek Ranch in West Marin for a weekend of fun, games, good food and fellowship. This year we had a special treat as we were joined by Rev. Ken Barnes. He won't start officially as our Interim Pastor until November 1, but he wanted to get a head start on getting to know the congregation. (Photos by Paul Berks and Bob Spofford)

"Meet the Pastor" Potluck - October 7, 2012

On Sunday night October 7, we gathered for a potluck dinner in the DeHaan Center at Pilgrim Park to meet Rev. Ken Barnes, who will be starting as our Interim Pastor on November 1. Lots of good food, laughter and the definite conclusion that we should do this more often.

Blessing the Animals - August 26, 2012

On a beautiful late summer Sunday, we moved worship out to the courtyard for our not-quite-annual Blessing of the Animals. We were joined by dogs of all sizes, a couple of guinea pigs, a cockatoo and a turtle. (All the cats and horses were wise enough to send pictures in their stead.)

Courtyard Potluck - November 2009

For years we've been talking, planning and fund-raising to rebuild the church courtyard into a more welcoming, accessible and useful space. Construction finally started in late summer 2009, and by October the basic structure was in place and usable, so we decided to have a party. On Sunday, November 1 after worship we settled into the new space for a delicious potluck lunch and celebration. (Pictures by Caryl Hodges and Oak Dowling.)

Pilgrim Park Re-dedication - July 14, 2007

Thirty-Five years after it opened, we gathered to re-dedicate Pilgrim Park, our low-income housing project. The occasion was the opening of the new DeHaan Community Center and the upgrading of every building in the development. One of the special people present was Rev. Francis Geddes, who was our Pastor back in 1969 and, together with the late John Starkweather, was the driving force behind the original decision to build Pilgrim Park.
