On June 7, 2009 our beloved Music Director, Tom Truchan, retired after 23 years, well over a thousand services and, he figured, several million notes played. Tom's thoughtful (and eclectic!) choice of music, and his benevolent, humane direction of the choir was a constant at FCC through eight pastors and a full generation of members and their children. This special sunday was all about music and Tom's unique contribution to FCC - - from a serious sermon about the role of music in the church, to a slightly less serious children's story time that featured some of Tom's memories and unique musical talents, to some heartfelt (but very silly) tributes in song by the choir to gifts and cake.
