On September 15, 2007, one of our own, Faune Towery, was ordained as a UCC minister right here in our sanctuary. We first met Faune in the fall of 2004, when she arrived as our seminary minister-in-training. At the end of that school year, she chose us as her "in-care" church for the rest of her seminary time. During her final year in seminary, she interned in hospital chaplaincy at UCSF and found she loved the work. (Click to read the sermon she preached on it at FCCSR.) In the summer of '07, she received a call to be the Chaplain at Hospice of Napa Valley, thus paving the way to ordination. A crowd of family and friends from Michigan, the East Bay and points in-between joined the members of FCCSR to fill the church and share the joy on Faune's special day. (Photos by Bob Stokstad.
